Just yesterday we shared how in Ranji Trophy, Indian all-rounder Gurkeerat Mann stunned everyone with his century and then quirky celebration way.
Now Ranji Trophy is in talks again and this time for a weird reason.
As the team Delhi and Uttar Pradesh were battling it out on the field, someone from outside did a giant security breach by driving his car in the field and that too in a drunken state. The driver reportedly drove the car straight into the field, tried to swerve it twice before parking it in the middle.
As per TOI, the guy named Girish Sharma is a Delhi resident from Buddh Vihar. He drove the car inside the air force stadium field at full speed as there was no guard on the main gate.
The first of its kind incident left everyone shocked including the players like Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma & Rishabh Pant who were present on the field at that time. In fact, Gambhir barely escaped the scare as the car was about to hit him when the guy took a sharp turn on the pitch.
Even the players like Akshdeep Nath and Imtiaz Ahmed had to run to save themselves being hit by the car. As per TOI, Girish later told police that he works for the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) at its Parliament Street branch and tried to make an '8' on the pitch as if he had come for a driving test.
Ishant Sharma even took to Twitter and shared the incident with his followers-
Shame shame shame! How can such security breach may happen in an important @RanjitrophyBCCI match?? Its no longer to happen in an ICC international match too. #bcci#RanjiTrophy2017
